As part of Optimity’s broad portfolio of successful projects across the UK, we are proud to announce our partnership alongside Innovate UK in bringing world-class connectivity to our latest project for County Hall, London.

Project planning

Optimity have been the technology partners of Sustainable Workspaces for many years and enjoy an extremely close working relationship with this highly innovative business.

From the moment County Hall was mooted as a potential project, the team at Optimity set about designing a truly intelligent workspace with a solution that truly tested the boundaries of innovation, with deeply integrated people-tracking technologies that would deliver a truly sustainable, efficient environment.

Such was the sophistication of the technology we wanted to apply, we were one of very few businesses to be awarded with grant funding from Innovate UK to research, develop and test our design.

Chris Burfield Chief Commercial Officer
“The solutions we deliver perfectly combine the changing needs of tenants with the requirement for creating new revenue streams and operational savings for landlords. It is this approach that separates us from the general providers in our sector.”

The work involved

The project at County Hall is significant due to its size, the technology applied and the prominence of one of London’s most notable landmark buildings. To combine complex technology to a building with concrete walls of over two metres in thickness required careful consideration to ensure our technical solution worked superbly, whilst respecting the Grade 2* building.

The first phase of this project will deliver a comprehensive technology suite to over 250 people in an environment that is both feature-rich and extremely efficient; delivering on both the key requirements of our client.

County Hall before the work started

County Hall will be space that intelligently adapts to the presence of people; the temperature of the building will align with the weather conditions outside and the density of people. The building will learn, understand and manage how people use the space and, alongside a post-COVID world, will ensure they are tracked and safe at all times.
